Chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Alhaji Abdullahi
Adamu Candido, has said that the council can survive without depending
on its monthly allocation from the federation account.
Speaking, weekend, he said that he inherited a nearly ‘collapsed’ area council.
Candido said that the council was blessed with untapped sources of
revenue from where millions of naira can be realised to pay staff
salaries and carry out projects for the masses.Speaking, weekend, he said that he inherited a nearly ‘collapsed’ area council.
He said that his administration was seeking ways to explore the revenue sources and start providing social amenities to the rural dwellers.
“Despite the fact that anytime we go for JAAC meeting we either come back empty-handed, which means we have no Kobo from the federation account, AMAC will never suffer in terms of money to tackle some of its challenges since we have avenues through which revenue can be realised,” he said.
