DC's Legends of Tomorrow: Could This Be Our Season Two Villain?

DC's Legends of Tomorrow is back in production for its second season, and so far we don't have any idea who the big bad is.
...Well, any official idea. I've got a crackpot theory that just might pan out.
During a 2015 visit to the set of DC's Legends of Tomorrow, I found myself talking to executive producer Phil Klemmer, chatting him about a time-traveling DC villain: Monarch. Almost a year later, that villain -- or at least a version of him -- seems like a pretty great candidate for a Season Two villain for Legends.
DC fans will remember Hank Hall as Hawk, one half of the superhero duo Hawk and Dove. After the first Dove -- his brother, Don -- died, Hall became increasingly violent and unstable -- not words that were impossible to associate with him even before that. The changes to Hall's personality culminated when he became the villain Monarch, the antagonist behind a number of crossover miniseries.
Of couse, in the original story it was Captain Atom, not Hawk, who would become Monarch in Armageddon 2001. Even at a time when fans weren't on the internet, though, that twist leaked, and rather than just roll with the punch, DC decided they had enough time to change the story.
Of course, the fact that Armageddon 2001 was a story all about a futuristic despot who was secretly a 20th Century superhero who killed his allies during his rise to the top meant that there were plenty of later-discarded clues that Captain Atom was the bad guy, but that's a story for another day.
Armageddon 2001's point of view character was a newly-introduced character known as Waverider (recognizable to fans of Legends of Tomorrow as the name of the timeship). It was his quest to change his future by becoming a hero in the past that set the story in motion, and the character would become bound to Hank Hall for years as a result. Besides appearing in numerous Armageddon-titled miniseries events, Waverider was a driving force in Dan Jurgens's Zero Hour: A Crisis in Time, which evolved Monarch into another new character: Extant.

During Zero Hour, one of the more notable things Extant did was lay waste to the Justice Society of America, a group of heroes who had been active in the 40s and who had, up to that point, remained artificially young by a variety of means. Extant aged them to their "proper" ages during the battle, resulting in some retiring and even some dying off.
It was that story that transformed Hank Hall into a primarily Justice Society villain, and Extant would reappear a few more times in JSA stories written by Geof Johns until his ultimate death, when he would be transported through time and made to replace one of his victims on board a crashing plane, where (having been rendered powerless moments before) he perished.
We don't yet know much about Legends of Tomorrow Season Two, but the things we do know would match up pretty well with Hank Hall as a potential villain.
We have characters struggling with the concept of legacy and generational heroes, in the form of Vixen and Citizen Steel. That could easily be as a result of a number of the older heroes dying off and passing their powers and responsibilities to the new generation.
We also have that introduction from Hourman at the end of Season One, in which he suggests that he's been sent by a future version of Heat Wave and that if they get on board the Waverider and head back to their destination, the team will die. Could that be tied to Monarch's initial rise to power, during which one of the first things he did was kill off all the superheroes?
We have producers who have said that the big bad will be "a slow reveal and a little bit of a mystery," something that would certainly appeal to Monarch's story, where the whole point of Armageddon 2001 was just to figure out his identity.
And of course we have the simple fact that we're looking for a time-traveling supervillain with a tie to the Justice Society of America -- not a TINY pool, but a pretty small one, and when it comes to guys who have a ton of influence, Monarch/Extant would be one of the best examples.
So...what do you think? Might we see Hank Hall turn to villainy in the second season of Legends of Tomorrow?

Kansas Mom Gives Birth to Third Set of Twins in 2 Years

In a rare occurrence, a mom has given birth to her third set of twins.
Danesha Couch, 20, of Kansas City, Kansas, welcomed two daughters, Darla and Dalanie, on June 17. The girls arrived less than one year after their twin sisters, Delilah and Davina, who were born May 29, 2015.
"I was surprised on my second time because me and their dad were discussing it, jokingly," Couch told ABC News, recalling when she learned she was carrying her second set of twins. "I said, 'This is not happening right now. Pinch me.' [My fiance] pinched me, and it was reality."
Couch gave birth to her first set of twins, boys named Desmond and Danarius, on April 13, 2014. Sadly, Desmond died shortly after birth from a placental abruption, which deprived the baby of oxygen, she said.

"It's been pretty tough," Couch said of the loss of her child. "I tend to cry about it one minute, and then I am happy again. I do hope one day [Danarius] doesn't tell me he feels empty and alone (without his brother)."
All three sets of twins are fraternal, and Couch said she had all of her children without the use of fertility drugs. She had a cesarean section with each pregnancy. Doctors warned her that because she drops more than one egg at a time she would have a greater chance of conceiving multiples, she said.
Dr. Marjorie Greenfield, the obstetrics and gynecology chief at University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio, told ABC News that although Couch's situation is rare, having multiple sets of twins occurs partly for genetic reasons.
"It's partly statistical and it's partly genetic," Greenfield said. "She probably doesn't release two eggs every single month, but there are people that are genetically prone to releasing two eggs. The way you get fraternal twins is by releasing two eggs. Identicals are not formed by releasing two eggs. If you release more eggs, therefore, you have a greater chance of having twins."
"Having that hit three times gets unusual," but not impossible, Greenfield said.
Couch's fiance and the father of her children, Jeffrey, has no twins on his side of the family.

But, Couch said, "His mom had nine kids. My mom had 12 kids, so we are both from pretty large families."
Couch said she goes through 35 diapers a day. She breastfeeds her newborns, but also spends $100 on formula each week for her two 1-year-olds, she said.
"I feel blessed that I can even have babies," Couch said. "When I talk to women that can't have kids, I consider donating my eggs. I would just have to speak with my spouse about it. I would be 100 percent OK with it."

NATIONAL ASSEMBLE MOVE AGAINST LAND USE ACT.

National Assembly Complex Abuja.

A constitutional amendment is in the works at the National Assembly to repeal the 1978 Land Use Act in order to remove contentious areas. It is taking this step to make land easily accessible to Nigerians, according to Senate President Bukola Saraki.

Disclosing this yesterday while opening the Abuja Housing Show, he said the Senate was awaiting a committee report on the Land Use Act, which may be ready before the end of September 2016.
Stakeholders in the building industry had in the past identified the 1979 Land Use Act as a cog in the wheel of housing development in the country.Saraki urged stakeholders to identify extant laws that require amendments and come up with a roadmap for addressing the housing deficit in the country.

He described the Abuja housing fiesta as a good initiative that should not just be a talk show but must be followed up with actions. Also speaking, Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, called for synergy between government and the private sector in order to bridge the deficit.
Fashola noted that the N35 billion earmarked in the 2016 budget for housing, when split across 36 states only amounts to less than N100 million which can build only a few houses.
He stressed the need to cultivate a mortgage culture instead of the cash- and-carry system, stressing that efforts were being made to create housing designs, putting into consideration the cultural needs of Nigerians.
The minister urged the participants to come up with a definition of what is ‘affordable home.’He said: “Time has come for us to first define what an affordable home is before talking about expansion of access. No country has achieved 100 per cent home ownership. Some people’s salary would never be enough to own a home. We need to define affordable home to be able to manage expectations. We need to find out what type of homes we should build. Across the length and breadth of this country people are building houses but most of them are empty.”

In his remarks, Comrade Bobboi Bala Kaigama of the Trade Union Congress (TUC) observed that contributors to the National Housing Fund (NHF) hardly have access to mortgage, lamenting that the Federal Government established NHF but has never contributed its equity to the fund.
He also decried the exorbitant interest rate being charged by mortgage finance institutions. He noted that there was no way the country can solve its housing problems when double digit interest rate is being charged by mortgage institutions.

He added: “The law provides for single digit but the mortgage institutions charge double. It will take an average worker donkey years to meet the least housing. Political will to addressing the housing problems in the country is lacking as the last efforts towards closing the massive housing deficit was in the Second Republic.”
